Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists at the Collégial du Séminaire de Sherbrooke
The project aims to couple together Natural Science graduates from the Collégial du Séminaire de Sherbrooke with university researchers from l’Université de Sherbrooke and Bishop’s University to prepare them for their comprehensive examination.
The goal is to encourage the next generation of scientists through a mentoring process which allows college students to experiment scientific research with renowned research teams.
A teacher from the Séminaire acts as an experiential learning coordinator in order to establish connections between university research laboratories and to supervise the partnerships. The project allowed expansion of the contact network between various faculties of the two universities. In addition to forging relationships, it also created long-term impacts for placements of college interns at the end of their studies and for university recruitment at the undergraduate level in various scientific fields.
