Expertise
Service provided by 3rd year students at the baccalauréat en psychoéducation, under the supervision of course instructors at the Département de psychoéducation with expertise in working with children.
The Clinique d’intervention psychoéducative de l’Université de Sherbrooke work with your pre-teen to build confidence through fun psycho-educational activities that will help them develop personal and social skills such as assertiveness, stress management and problem solving.
The child is matched with a 3rd year student in the baccalauréat en psychoéducation and is able to benefit free of charge from individualized distance follow-up through four individual meetings and three group meetings.
The activities aim to develop various personal and social skills (assertiveness, stress management, problem solving).
While having fun, the child lives an enriching experience through different types of individual and group activities, personalized and adapted to his/her needs.
The four individual meetings last approximately 45 minutes. They begin the week of September 27 and end around December 10. One individual meeting takes place before each of the three periods of psycho-educational group activities and one last meeting at the very end of the follow-up. The timing of the individual meetings is determined according to your schedule and that of the student. Following an assessment completed by your child to evaluate his/her ability to adapt, the activities are adjusted to meet his/her personal characteristics and needs.
After these pedagogical days, I noticed a big change in my boy. He has regained his self-confidence and I feel that he is much stronger and more equipped than before. Thank you very much!
The service has helped my daughter a lot. She now has more tools to deal with the changes that are coming.
